With our programmes you can fit going back to college around your lifestyle.

If so then we have the programme for you across our three part-time third level courses to suit you. 

Application Deadline for 2023/2024: Friday, 18th August 2023 (early application is recommended to avoid disappointment)

 

Certificate in Polymer Technology – Level 6

LEVEL:  6

 

Duration:  1 Year part-time (primarily online from September – May)

 

Entry Requirements:  Level 5 Qualification (Leaving Certificate) and preferably be working in the industry with a technical aptitude. For those who do not have the required entry qualification RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) may apply.

 

Full Fees:  €2,450 per year / €1,225 per semester.

 

Funding:  30% available via your employer from First Polymer Training Skillnet. €1,715 per year / €858 per semester. If you decide to apply and are accepted please let us know (before paying a deposit) if you wish to avail of funding.

B. Engineering in Polymer Processing – Level 7

LEVEL:  7

 

Duration:  2 Years part-time (primarily online from September – May each year)

 

Entry Requirements:  Level 6 trade/engineering qualification plus at least 5 years’ experience in industry. For those who do not have the required entry qualification RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) may apply.

 

Full Fees:  €3,400 per year / €1,700 per semester.

 

Funding:  30% available via your employer from First Polymer Training Skillnet. €2,380 per year / €1,190 per semester. If you decide to apply and are accepted please let us know (before paying a deposit) if you wish to avail of funding.

B. Engineering in Polymer Processing – Level 8

LEVEL:  8

 

Duration:  2 Years part-time (primarily online from September – May each year).

 

Entry Requirements:  Level 7 BEng in Polymer Processing, Polymer Engineering or a related discipline.

 

Full Fees:  €4,200 per year / €2,100 per semester.

 

Funding:  30% available via your employer from First Polymer Training Skillnet. €2,940 per year / €1,470 per semester. If you decide to apply and are accepted please let us know (before paying a deposit) if you wish to avail of funding.

  1. Apply through the online portal here before the deadline.
  2.  If accepted onto the programme, contact catherine.collins@ibec.ie immediately with your acceptance email to apply for funding. Do not pay the deposit requested.
  3. First Polymer Training Skillnet will notify the University that you are being supported and therefore the deposit is waived. We will contact you with further information about fees.
