Q. What are the course times at First Polymer Training?

A. Almost all courses run from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day with usually an earlier finish on the last day of a course. ‘Occasionally’ an early start is agreed with the trainer and trainees after Day one if this is suitable for the full group. (For on -site courses times vary and this is agreed with the specific company).

Q. What’s included in my course fee?

A. Included in your course fee are refreshments and lunch each day. Course manual/ notes and QQI accreditation (if applicable) are also included. If you have any special dietary requirements, please notify us in advance.

Q. What happens if  I need to cancel my booking ?

If for any reason you cannot attend a course you have booked, the following policy will apply:

  1. Cancellation up to 10 working days before the start of the course: you will still be invoiced in the normal way, but you will receive a 100% credit towards a place on the next suitable course. There is no time limit on this, so your money is not lost;
  2. Cancellation 9 – 5 working days before the start of the course: you will be invoiced for 50% of the course fee (with no credit or refund);
  3. Cancellation 4 working days or less before the start of the course: you will be invoiced for 100% of the course fee (with no credit or refund);

It is your responsibility to please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend a course you have confirmed. The course booking may be changed to another individual or candidate in the same company at any stage prior to the start of the course, please ensure to inform us if you need to change the delegate attending at least 24 hours in advance of the course starting.

FPT reserves the right to cancel any courses in the event of insufficient bookings. FPT reserves the right to cancel or amend the arrangements for any course.

Q. What do I need to bring with me when attending a course at First Polymer Training.

A. Every trainee is provided with a small induction pack on arrival which also contains a pen and paper. If you have a keep-cup or reusable water bottle/coffee cup, please bring it with you to help us with our sustainability efforts.

Some of our courses require you to wear safety shoes, if this is the case you will be notified in advance by email. ( We keep a small stock of slip on over shoes for trainees that don’t have their own safety shoes) All other PPE is provided. Every trainee is provided with a small induction pack on arrival which also contains a pen and paper.

Some other more specialised technical courses may require you to bring multimeters or laptops. Again if this is the case you will be notified by email in advance with the special requirements of the specific course you are attending.

Q. Is there parking available at the First Polymer Training centre?

A. Yes there is ample free parking available at our centre.

Q. What if I have difficulty finding the training centre on the first morning of a course?

A. Please feel free to ring our office on 090 6471223 and our staff will give you directions over the phone. We are also on Google Maps, please search for First Polymer Training or alternatively search Google Maps by our postcode N37 RT29. Our centre is generally open from 8:30am to 5.00pm each day.

Q. Can I avail of special rates for accommodation locally?

A. First Polymer Training has special rates agreed with a number of local hotels. See here for the full list. These rates can only be availed of by phone and you need to mention that you are attending a course with First Polymer Training Skillnet in order to get the preferential rate.
