Product and Process Validation

This 5 day programme is designed to provide a detailed understanding of the process of validation for regulated industries, with particular focus on validation for the manufacture of medical devices and the requirements of ISO EN 13485 and FDA QSR. The course aims to explore in some depth:

  • All validation activities;
  • The reasons for these activities and how best to meet these requirements and methodologies.

All of these topics will be expanded on and case studies/examples will be included in order to best communicate the method for validation.

Our Electrical maintenance course places a strong focus on theory and practical skills. Trainees will learn to take machine drawings and a multi-meter and safely trace the cause of the stoppage  in order to decide if it’s a simple fix to get back into production, or if the machine really needs to be left for expert help. The objective of this programme is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence to diagnose industrial faults and to carry out minor repairs/ replacements safely and where appropriate. The course will inform the trainee of potential hazards when working with or near electrical equipment and when they need to call a qualified electrician  and how to troubleshoot very safely.

Polymer Study Tour

The Polymer Study Tour is a FREE, two-day, residential course for Technology and Engineering Teachers designed to enhance subject knowledge relating to polymers, provide ideas for practical teaching and give an insight into the vibrant polymer industry in Ireland.

The programme will give you first hand experience of the polymer industry in action. It is a careful blend of lectures, practical sessions using readily available resources to demonstrate key polymer-related concepts, industry tours, and discussion opportunities based on detailed information sent out beforehand. We have liaised closely with Technology and Engineering teachers when devising the programme so that it links closely with the polymer topics in the post-primary curriculum.

Why Attend?

The aim of this programme is to really open your eyes to the world of polymers and plastics and support you to include it in your teaching.  The Irish polymer industry plays a vitally important role in almost every area of our lives from life saving medical devices, to food packaging, through to the next generation air transport solutions and beyond.

The sector is made up of over 230 highly innovative companies across Ireland employing over 7,000 people. There are huge job opportunities for new graduates in a very diverse environment working across high tech industries like ICT, MedTech, automotive, aerospace and more. We need more great young engineering talent to enter the sector and be part of future innovation.

Medical Polymers and Processing Technology

Medical Polymers and Processing Technology

This two day course focuses specifically on safety in the plastics processing industry, paying particular attention to Injection Moulding and Extrusion safety.  Concentrating on both on personnel safety and reducing equipment damage, it is designed to give participants the knowledge and skills to put in place a coherent risk assessment strategy in their workplace.

In addition to covering the essential information needed, a strong emphasis is placed on giving participants practical Risk Analysis techniques, with adequate time allowed for these techniques to be practiced during the programme.

The schedule can be adjusted to suit the needs of all delegates.

Risk Assessment for Polymer Processing

Risk Assessment for Polymer Processing

We are delighted to introduce our revamped Plastic Part Design Online course. Encompassing the existing content from our previous programme, the course has been updated to include the latest advances in materials, technology and processes as well as sustainability and best practice. This intensive course will enable participants to construct a basic polymer product design specification, design a polymer product from first principles and understand the influence of polymer processing upon design and final properties.

While this course assumes no prior knowledge about plastic part design it is very beneficial to have prior knowledge of the common characteristics of polymer materials and a basic understanding of principal polymer processing methods. Many existing plastic products and new products converted from metals are redesigned in order to simplify production and reduce costs. Designers have to be aware of the unique nature of plastics and how to effectively design with these materials if useful products are to be made. Existing plastic part designers will need to update their knowledge base to effectively design parts from new high performance polymers for medical, automotive and aerospace applications in particular.
